Ensuring Safe, Ethical, and Supportive Trauma Therapy
Your Therapy Journey: The Assessment Process
At A.I.M Trauma Therapy, I am committed to providing safe, ethical, and effective therapy for every client. Whether sessions take place face-to-face or online, my goal is to create a supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and guided on your healing journey.
Before we begin therapy, I take time to understand your background and current challenges. This helps us create a personalised roadmap for your healing process.
- Pre-Session Questionnaires: Before your first session, I will send you some forms to complete. These helps me gain a deeper understanding of your experiences and ensure nothing important is overlooked. If you have any difficulties filling them out, just let me know—I’m here to help.
- Ongoing Assessments: Throughout your therapy journey, we will regularly review your progress to ensure you’re receiving the most effective support. Certain trauma therapies also include built-in assessments to track your growth and adjust our approach as needed.
Additional Support & Safety Planning
If I have any concerns before starting therapy, I may arrange a brief phone consultation to discuss your needs further. In some cases, I may:
- Work with you to create a safety plan before beginning therapy.
- Provide additional resources or alternative support options to complement your healing journey.
- Recommend in-person therapy if you are local to me but approached to work online.
- Recommend other in-person therapy services if online therapy isn’t the best fit for your needs.
Important Note on Diagnosis
I specialise in trauma focused therapy and use clinically recognised assessment tools that I have been trained in to guide treatment only. I do not provide medical diagnosis, as this falls outside my professional scope. If you require a formal diagnosis, then I encourage you to speak with your GP.
